How to calculate NEET 2021 cut-off percentile rank?
The National Testing Agency defines the NEET Cut-off percentile as, “A percentile rank is the percentage of score which falls below a given score in a group.” The authority applies the formula mentioned below to calculate the NEET cut-off percentiles.

NEET 2021 – Tie-Breaking Process
When more than one candidate scores an equal number of marks, the tie-breaking criteria are followed to decide their rank. The method is elaborated on below.
- Biology Score – A candidate with more marks in biology will be ranked higher than the candidate with less biology marks.
- Chemistry Score – A candidate who has scored higher in Chemistry will be ranked higher than the candidates who have scored lower.
- Less Wrong Answers – If the tie still remains, then the third method is used. Here, the candidate with fewer wrong answers is preferred over other candidates.
- Age Factor – If the above criteria fail to break the tie, the candidate’s age will be considered a tie-breaking criterion as a case of last resort. An older candidate will be preferred over a younger candidate.`

The counselling for 85% of seats under the state quota is conducted by the competent authorities of the respective state governments. NEET 2021 Admission Process
The admission to medical courses by NEET 2021 will be made in two ways – through the All India Quota (15% seats) counselling and the State counselling (85% seats).
- The counselling for the All India Quota Seats is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee of the Central government.
- The designated authorities conduct the counselling for state quota seats in every state.
- Seats will be allocated based on multiple factors like Candidate’s choice, NEET 2021 score, NEET 2021 rank, reservation etc.
- If any seats lie vacant after two rounds of the AIQ counselling, they will be transferred to the state quota.
